Ernest E. "Buzz" Chapman, 90

Girard – Services were held Wed. May 13, 2015 for Ernest E. “Buzz” Chapman, 90 who died Monday at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Buzz was born on September 21, 1924 in Kingston, WV, the son of Charles and Mindia Hyden Chapman. From 1943-1946 Buzz proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He served on the USS Kankakee Tanker which was part of the sixth fleet fighting in the South Pacific. In 1959 he moved with his family from West Virginia to Youngstown and worked for Truscon Steel (Republic Steel) in Niles as a Webb Bewder Operator retiring in 1981. He leaves to cherish in his memories his wife; Helen, his sons; Roger (Darlene) Chapman of Liberty, Gary Chapman of Girard, and Donald (Charlene) Chapman, his daughter; Diane (Tom) Pequla, his two sisters; Hazel Bartholomew and Rosemary Chapman of West Palm Beach, FL, His nieces; Sandra Testa, Belinda Counts, Charmane Coleman of  Fl, and Charlene Devault of Austintown. He also leaves his “special cousin” “Sis” Weeks of Scarbro, WV, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter; Dawn L. Chapman. Any contributions can be sent in Buzz’s memory to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Boardman, OH 44512.
