Lena D. Garritano, 84
Boardman – Family and friends will gather from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday Aug 16, 2015 in Schiavone Funeral Home to celebrate the life of Lena D. Garritano, 84 who died early Tuesday morning. Lena was born Sept. 11, 1930 in Youngstown to her parents, Joseph and Gladys Migliore Tricoli. She was a 1948 graduate of the Rayen School and dedicated her time as an activity assistant at Park Vista and Camelot Arms for over 20 years. She was a member of the church, the Cornersburg Happy Seniors Group, and an AARP affiliate who enjoyed being outside in the sun amongst the flowers and butterflies. She spent numerous hours in the family garden where her husband planted her favorite yellow roses. When that wasn’t possible Lena enjoyed her doll collection, reading, shopping, Bingo, and trips to the casinos, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. Lena was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sadly missed by her children; Petrina (Robert Chastain) Garritano, Frank Garritano, and Tomasina (Derek) Donatelli, her granddaughters; Lilliana and Victoria Donatelli, and her brothers; Bart and Rocco Tricoli. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 59 years; Frank Garritano whom she married Nov. 15, 1952 died on New Year’s Eve 2011, her brother; Samuel Tricoli, and her sister; Carmel DeNicholas. Lena’s family would like to give a special thank you to her at home care givers; Denise, Alyssa, and Michelle and to the staffs of Harbor Light Hospice and ARA Dialysis of Boardman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lena at 10 AM on Monday Aug. 17 in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
