Youngstown- Louis was born in Youngstown on October 2, 1925, to his parents, James and Mary Allegrette Salreno. He proudly served in the US Navy during the final two years of World War II. He returned home to finish high school and graduated from Chaney High School in 1947 and attended Youngstown College. He was a member of the church and served as a financial clerk and usher.
