Canfield - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Charles Borromeo Church at 11am on Friday, April 28, 2017 for Patricia A. Rafeedie 65, who passed away April 22, 2017. Patty was born in Youngstown on June 23, 1951, a daughter of Samuel and Anne Vansach Ferreri. She was a lifelong resident of Youngstown and a graduate of East High School where she was a band majorette. Her working years included JC Penney and The Youngstown Club. She was a member of the church and active in the Boardman Womens Junior League. Patty was a proud mother and grandmother and the anchor of her family. She hosted every holiday celebration and special occasion. She made certain family traditions and bonds were preserved. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, never missing an opportunity to spend time with them or their sporting events or dance recitals. Patty loved annual North Carolina beach vacations with her husband and was fortunate to travel to Hawaii many times as well as London and Paris. She enjoyed cooking and loved to prepare wedding soup and many other items for all to enjoy. She also enjoyed fitness and golf as hobbies. Although she came to golf later in life, she developed a passion for the game. She played in a women's league and enjoyed that time with friends, new and old. Patty was tireless in her loving devotion to her family. Aging family members had all needs met by her. Never once would she deny a request for assistance by anyone. She was a shining example of Catholic service and selfless love. Patty is survived by her mother Anne, her husband, John Rafeedie; her children, Christine Bell and John Rafeedie; her son-in-law, Jeremy Bell; her grandchildren, Tyler Bell and Sophia Bell; her brother, Samuel Ferreri; her sister, Janice Cannistra; her sister-in-law, Sue Ferreri; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who were touched by her incredible love and kindness. Calling hours will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday, April 27, 2017 in Schiavone Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather for mass on Friday at the church followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Patty's memory.
