             Thomas F. Chance passed away on May 24 2016, at the age of 88, from Alzheimer’s with his loving family by his side. 

              Born on March 23, 1928, to Carl and Angeline Alveranzo Chance Sr. Tommy was a graduate of Chaney High School, and joined the army in 1946.  On October 8, 1949, Tommy married his high school sweetheart, Marie J. Costantino and had been married for 66 years.  They had four children, Cathy Chance of Austintown, “The Twins” Tom (Julia) Chance II of The Colony, Tx, Tammy Chance of Austintown, and “The Baby”, Adria (James V.) Pupino, also of Austintown, six Grandchildren; Thomas F. III, Roxanne (Patrick) Fleischer, Elisha Chance, Amara Chance, James V. Pupino III, and Emily Pupino, five great grandchildren; Patrick, Addison, and Sophia Fleischer, and Aaiden, and Ian Cafarelli.

                During his years of employment at Wean United, Tommy became a world traveler, working in Shanghai, China and Korea.  After retirement he was then a consultant for Danielli Wean, traveling to Russia in 1992.

                Tom was a lifetime member of St Anthony of Padua Church, serving as a financial clerk, and on parish council.  He worked bingo, festivals, and spaghetti dinners. He was also a former Grand Knight of the K of C Council 3930.  He enjoyed playing cards with his brothers and nephews, close friends and other family members.  A trip to any casino was always welcomed by him and Marie.  He also became an excellent gardener, learning from his father and father-in-law, passing this knowledge down to his children and grandchildren.Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter Karen Marie, four brothers; James, Carl, Phillip, and Joseph, and six sisters; Phyllis Romeo, Rose Chance, Anita Greico, Norma Jean Mahon, Mary Jane Bielick, and Loretta  Bucher.

                He leaves his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his only surviving brother; Albert Chance.

                Thank you to the excellent staff at Meridian Arms Living Center for their wonderful care and compassion to both Tom and Marie.  You are truly a five star facility.  Special thanks also to Hospice of the Valley for your care and help in this difficult time.

Family and friends may call at Schiavone’s Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26 from 4-8pm and Friday, May 27 from 9:45-10:45am. A mass will follow at St Anthony of Padua Church on Friday at 11am.
