Laura Cherol, 96, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Greensboro, North Carolina at her daughter’s home. She was born on April 24, 1927 in Youngtown and was a daughter of Phillip and Neva DiPiero. She was the youngest daughter of Phillip and Neva and was preceded in death by her brother Tony DePiero and sister Lena Ruggiero.
She was a graduate of Chaney High school in 1945. She worked at Cherol’s Market with her husband, Joseph, and was a caterer with her mother for numerous years and then operated at Cherol’s banquet room for years before it closed. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress and hat maker. She was also a member of the Woman’s Bugnarese Club. She leaves behind her daughter Cynthia Felix, son-in-law Daniel Felix, and grandchildren, Neva and Jon Felix along with great-grandson Angelo. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 7-9pm on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Schiavone Funeral Home, 1842 Belmont Ave, in Youngstown.
There will also be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Church at 10am.
