Lucy (DeSabato) Bell

Girard - Lucy DeSabato Bell, 94 formerly of North Avenue, passed away Saturday April 8, 2017 at Shepherd of the Valley Retirement Home in Niles. She was born April 5, 1923 in Youngstown, a daughter of Antonio and Antoinette Clement DeSabato. Lucy grew up in Brier Hill and was a lifelong member of St. Rocco Church. She worked at Atlantic Mills for many years until its closing, but her family and St. Rocco’s Church were her life’s passion. She was a volunteer for all the pasta dinners where she made homemade cavatelli and other fund raisers at the church. After its closing, she continued to make and sell them until the demand was too great that she couldn’t keep up. When she wasn’t working hard, she loved traveling around the US. Lucy adored taking care of people and was a wonderful woman loved by many, but most of all her family. She will be dearly missed by her nephew, Stephen (Valerie) Molnar, her niece, Antoinette (Matthew) Jones, her four great nieces, Ashley Rose and Abby Lynn Molnar and Mariah and Aubrey Jones and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronnie Bell whom she married April 7, 1945 died November 21, 1952, her sister, Rose Marie Molnar and her brother, Edward DeSabato. Calling hours will be at 10am on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Schiavone Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11am. Burial will be in Tod Homestead Cemetery.
