Youngstown - William “Billy” Battisti, 81, died at his home at Gateways to Better Living after a short illness. He was surrounded by his loved ones and his many friends at the home.
Billy was born Feb. 13, 1937, in Youngstown, a son of William and Irene (Stillwagon) Battisti, who dedicated their lives to caring for him. He made his home with his parents in Youngstown until their passing, after which he lived with his sister, Dolores and Frank Yannucci and their family for 23 years.
Bill attended the MRDD Workshop and often spoke fondly of his teachers and many friends there. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed attending Sunday services. Bill had a large extended family that doted on him and he enjoyed spending time among them.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dolores of Youngstown; and brother, Robert of Novelty, Ohio. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Frank; and many cousins; nieces; and nephews.
Family and friends will gather from 10-11am on Sat. Aug. 25, 2018 in St. John Episcopal Church followed by a mass at 11am.
