Warren-A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Mon. Feb. 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, for Anthony J. Ricci who passed away on Feb 12, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Mr. Ricci was born on Sept. 16, 1921 a son of Pasquale and Filomena Ricci. He was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School then enlisted in the Marine Corps during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater on Okinawa, Saipan, Tinian, Guadalcanal, Eniwetok, and New Caledonia.
Mr. Ricci was considered a legend in Photography. He opened Ricci Studio of Photography in 1950 after having worked at Schween Wagner Studios as a trainer for cameramen in their studios here and in Boston. He was a lifetime member of the Certified Professional Photographers of Ohio and the Professional Photographers of America, continually updating his skills at Winona School of Photography in Indiana. He was a Paul Harris Fellow with Girard-Liberty Rotary Club. He participated in many volunteer activities through rotary including delivering for Mobile Meals. He was also a member of the Optimist Club of Liberty and a member of the Carovillesi Mutual Aid Society.
He married the former Lucille James at St. Anthony of Padua Church where he was a commentator and member of the Holy Name Society remaining active in the church his entire life.
He is survived by his wife; three children; Patricia (James) Cordek, Phyllis (Dr. Anthony) Schiavone, and Anthony (Vicki) Ricci, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed exercise, putting many thousands of miles on his exercise bike which he diligently rode twice daily, and enjoyed traveling the world extensively with his wife, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Grace Salvatore.
Calling hours will be at Schiavone Funeral Home, 1842 Belmont Ave in Youngstown on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 from 3-6 pm.  The funeral will commence at the church Monday morning. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown
