Barbara A. (Palermo) Ruggiero

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in St. Anthony of Padua Church at noon for Barbara A. Ruggiero who died at her residence surrounded by her loving family Tuesday afternoon. She was born July 13, 1936 in Youngstown and was the daughter of James (Skinny) V. and Ruby C. Cacuso Palermo. She was a homemaker and member of the church. Barbara was a 1954 graduate of The Rayen School and put all her talents to work cooking and raising her family. Her greatest joy was being a full-time grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 61 years of marriage, Frank Ruggiero Jr. whom she married July 7, 1956, a son, Frank (Subhashini) Ruggiero; three daughters, Karen (Wells) Gladding, Annette (Charles) Arneman, and Cathy (Mark) Matash; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joseph Palermo. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11:45 am on Saturday in Schiavone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Barbara's name. Burial will be in Belmont Park Cemetery.
