Carmen F. Gagliano

Carmen F. Gagliano passed away on August 23, 2024 with family at his side. Carmen was born to Frank and Louise Novello Gagliano on September 23, 1942 in Youngstown and raised in Brier Hill. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1961 and went on to work the counter at Isaly's before enlisting in the Army National Guard. Carmen worked at Packard Electric in various plants and served as a union representative for over 30 years. In his rambunctious younger years he enjoyed driving too fast and working on cars, including his own 1955 Chevy Bel Air named Run Around Sue while listening to doo wop music. He traded in the hell-raising days when he married Dianne Novak on January 28, 1967 and became a dedicated family man. Family and Italian traditions meant everything to Carmen. He was a constant during annual family canning, sausage making and Sunday Dinners. He gave his all to family, always prioritizing being together. He never forgot when anyone extended kindness to him or any of his loved ones. Carmen's love will always be the guide for his daughter, Dawn (Edward) Gagliano Bartlett; and the jewel of the family, granddaughter Christin Gagliano who miss him terribly. He also leaves his brother Daniel (Connie) Gagliano and a host of nieces and nephews. Special memories will be treasured by cousins Emery Cutting, the Tufaro and Novello families. He was preceded in death by his parents, baby brother John, beloved wife Dianne and treasured sons Frank and Tom Gagliano. Friends and family are invited to attend a service celebrating Carmen's life on September 7, 2024 at Schiavone Funeral Home at 1 pm, following calling hours from 11am-1 pm.
