Coletta Jean Marsco
YOUNGSTOWN Coletta Jean Marsco died on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, after a
courageous four and a half year battle with cancer.
She was born in Youngstown on Sept. 24, 1943, a daughter of Joe and Minnie
Mele Marsco.
Coletta was a 1961 graduate of The Rayen School. She then attended
secretarial school, where she received the Gregg Shorthand Award.
In 1964, she was appointed to the Traffic Engineering Department of the city
of Youngstown by Mayor Anthony B. Flask. Coletta retired in 2009 as the
Assistant Traffic Coordinator for the city of Youngstown.
Coletta was a life-long member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Brier Hill.
She dedicated her life to her niece and nephews and was very proud of their
accomplishments. Coletta thoroughly enjoyed her trips to New Orleans to
visit the "apple of her eye," her godson and great-nephew, Charlie.
Coletta leaves to cherish her memories, her sister and brother-in-law,
Roslyn and Martin "Butch" Hudak; her brother, Joe (Sarah) Marsco; her
nephews, Marty Hudak of Youngstown, Rob (Jen) Hudak of New Orleans, and Joe
Marsco of Las Vegas; niece Melissa Marsco of Cleveland; and great-nephew,
Charlie Hudak of New Orleans. She leaves three loving aunts, Mrs. Julia
Palazzo of Boardman, Mrs. Anita Marsco of Struthers, and Mrs. Renee Marsco
of Warren; triplet cousins, Gabriella, Gianna, and Jeffrey Howe of Liberty;
and many more loving cousins and friends.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday morning
one hour before the funeral Mass at the Schiavone Funeral Home.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony
of Padua Church on Turin Avenue. Presiding at the Mass will be the Reverend
Michael Swierz.
