Dominic Buzzacco

Boardman

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dominic "Buzz" Buzzacco. Buzz was a cherished Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and a tremendous friend who left us peacefully on April 17th, 2025, at the age of 94. Dominic lived a full life, marked by love and laughter that included a wonderful group of family and friends. It all began on August 22nd, 1930, in the Briar Hill area of Youngstown, born to Angeline (Sarno) and Raffaele Buzzacco from Avellino, Italy.

Dominic was a man of many talents; a truly successful restaurateur with several roles at former establishments: Jimmy Chieffo's, Chieffo's on the Lake, and Paonessa's. All were belovedestablishments in the surrounding communities. Buzz always offered delicious meals served by a friendly staff, in a very welcoming atmosphere where friends and family gathered regularly.

As a carpenter, Buzz also partnered with his brother Neil to build custom homes under "Buzzacco Builders." When Buzz wasn't busy with his entrepreneurial ventures he loved spending time on the golf course, where he forged lasting friendships. He was also an avid card player and enjoyed the company of friends during games that were filled with laughter, but also sincere competition. Buzz had a passion for music, and for many years held season tickets to the Pittsburgh Opera.

Dominic will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol (Skocik/Fasanelli) of more than 12 years, with whom he shared a deep love and friendship for more than 44 years. He also leaves a beloved family: son, Dominic (Pam); daughters, Debbie Villano and Mary Lou (Richard) Goldfarb (with his first wife Mary Buzzacco); stepchildren, Joseph (Heather) Fasanelli, Nicolette (Jeff) Gabler; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many special nephews and nieces.

Dominic will be remembered for his generous spirit, kind heart, and unwavering support for those he loved. We are forever grateful for the special gift of you. Ti amo, Papa!

Carol would like to especially thank her daughter, Nikki, who has been an RN for more than 25 years and currently specializes in Hospice, for her amazing dedication, love and 24-hour care for Buzz in his final months at home. Additionally, the family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Sanctuary Hospice, especially his nurse, Roseanne, RN and caregiver Jeremiah, STNA. You are both truly appreciated for your comfort, care and compassion to all of us.

Per Dominic's request, there will be no services or calling hours. Thank You, Schiavone Funeral Home, for handling Buzz's final arrangements.
