Austintown - Dorothy Ann Madved Zagotti died Thursday, July 25, 2013 after a battle with cancer. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind her husband Fred, of 48 years, her children; Fred (Carla) Zagotti, Lynn (Mark) Aventino, and Kristy (Paul) Novak. She was adored by her seven grandchildren; Maria, Anthony, Alayna, Logan, Dominic, Zoe, and Matthew. Dorothy graduated from East High School in Youngstown and was a parishioner at St. Cyril and Methodius Church. She worked at the Youngstown Vindicator as a book keeper and secretary where she was affectionately known as "Sam" to her co-workers. After that, she dedicated her time to being an amazing mother to her family. Her favorite thing to do was take a trip "down south" to the Mountaineer Casino, a place where she felt no pain. She was an avid lottery player and loved to try her luck at scratch- offs. She was artistic and creative, loving and kind. A kinder soul we have never met. She will be missed and remembered by all who knew her. Calling hours will be held from 9-9:45 a.m. at St. Cyril and Methodius Church on Monday, July 29, 2013 with a funeral mass to follow at 10:00. The family would like to thank Briarfield Manor in Austintown for their exceptional care of Dorothy. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Dorothy's name to the American Cancer Society to help others in their fight with this disease.
