Edward A. Billock Sr., 84
Youngstown – Edward A. Billock Sr., 84 passed away Sunday morning surrounded by his family. He was born Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1930, one of ten children born to Leo and Rose Sattler Billock. Edward was a Northside resident who worked in the mailroom of The Youngstown Vindicator for 45 years. As a lifelong member of St. Edward Church he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Alter Server, reaching out to those at Park Vista, Northside Hospital, and the homebound. He was a 1949 graduate of Ursuline High School, a member of the Teamsters Union 473, and a US Army Veteran. Edward was a member of the Allied Print Craft League who enjoyed bowling and golfing together. He was a great cook and was all about his family and his faith in God. Edward is survived by his wife of 52 years; the former Agnes Hestin whom he married Aug. 18, 1962, a son; Edward (Susan) Billock Jr., a daughter; Mary (Robert)Ford, 11 grandchildren; Nicholas Lucarell (fiancée Brittany Hephner), Nicole (Erik) Matson, Robert Ford Jr., Joshua Ford, Olivia, Alicia, Josiah, Hannah, Lydia, Noah, and Selah Billock, two great grandchildren; Sophia and Benjamin Matson, two sisters; Rosemarie Ritzler and Patricia Sunderman, and two sisters-in-law; Carmel Billock and Rosemary Billock. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Bernard, Leo, James, and William, and three sisters; Ruth Salata, Dorothy Davis, and Mary Eleanor Morris. Calling hours will be Friday Sept. 12 from 4-8PM and from 9-9:45AM Saturday Sept 13 at Schiavone Funeral Home. A mass will follow at 10AM in St. Edward Church.
