Elizabeth (Betty) Fetchet, 91
Girard - Elizabeth (Betty) Fetchet, 91, passed away the morning of Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Hospice House, having been surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 21, 1922 in Youngstown, she was the daughter of John and Theresa (Derienzo) Jackett and is predeceased by her brothers Burt, Jim, Ralph and Nick. Betty was also predeceased by her grandson Brad Fetchet.
Betty was married for over 65 years to her husband Peter. Before her marriage, Betty worked for a decade at A&P in a variety of positions. She then became a dedicated mother, housewife and volunteer. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Betty was a volunteer for over ten years at North Side Hospital, was past President of the Over 55 group, held a variety of committee leadership roles and, most recently, enjoyed fun times at the Senior Center. She was a devout Roman Catholic and was a member of St. Edward Parish for over 50 years.
Betty is survived by her husband Peter; her two children and their spouses, Frank Fetchet and his wife Mary of New Canaan, Connecticut; daughter, Diane (Fetchet) Combs and her husband Tom of Sarasota, Florida; four grandchildren and one great grandchild, Wes Fetchet and his wife Sarah and daughter Molly, Chris Fetchet, Melissa (Combs) Boswell and her husband Matt and Stephanie Combs.
A mass and memorial celebration service will be scheduled for a later date.
