Ella G. Beveridge, 95
Houston - Ella G. Beveridge, 95 passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, February 23, 2014 in Houston, Texas after an extended illness. Ella was born in 1918 in Warwick, Rhode Island to the late Maxwell and Nellie Stone. She moved to Youngstown in 1926, and was a 1935 graduate of South High School. She married her late husband, Ray Beveridge in 1942 and spent 48 wonderful years with him.Prior to retiring from Youngstown State University in 1985 where she served as an administrative assistant, she worked at Youngstown Steel Door and Truscon Steel. She also spent many years as a full time mother.After retiring, she filled her days with volunteering at her church, traveling, and was very active in The Youngstown Area Federation of Women's Clubs Inc., Questors Club, YSU Retirees and Miriam Chapter # 278, Youngstown OES. In 2003 she moved to Houston, Texas to be closer to her family. There she enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Her time living close to her family was a joy and a blessing. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Peggy Beveridge, and her three grandsons, Justin and Chris Beveridge, and Jeffrey Modzel. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the caregivers and staff at The Cottage of Spring Branch in Houston, Texas where she lived the last three years. A memorial service will be held at 9:30AM Monday May 5, 2014 in the Chapel at Lake Park Cemetery with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
