Girard – A mass of Christian Burial will be said by Father Michael Swierz on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church for Eugene E. Blue, 66 who died Friday at Hospice House. "Gene" was born Oct. 23, 1948 in Youngstown, a son of Terry and Lu Lu Bentley Blue. Gene was retired from RMI Titanium in Niles with 40 years of service. He was a member of the church, United Steelworkers of America Local 2155, American Legion Post 235 in Girard, and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was very much devoted to his family and is survived by two sons; John Blue and Eugene Blue, two grandchildren; Damian and Elizabeth Blue, three brothers; Robert, Terry, and Grant Blue, and a sister; Laurel Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; the former Marie J. Drummond whom he married June 21, 1969 died May 5, 2013, a son; Michael J. Blue, a sister; Gayla M. Blue, and three brothers; Ted, Summers, and Tony. Family and friends will gather from 11AM-2PM and from 5-8PM on Wed. and from 9-9:45AM Thurs. morning at Schiavone Funeral Home in Youngstown. In lieu of flowers contribution can be made to Hospice of the Valley in Gene's memory. Burial will be in Girard City Cemetery with Military Honors.
