Irma Pelini, 95
Youngstown - A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Monday, October, 21, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Church for Irma Margaret Pelini, 95, who died on October 18, 2013 at the Omni West Nursing Home on Vestal Road.
Irma was born on December 10, 1917 in White, Pennsylvania. The daughter of Saverio (Sam) Pelini and Annunciatta (Nancy) Pelini, Irma was a long time resident of Youngstown and also worked for the State Department in Washington during the 1940's and 1950's.
Irma was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church and an avid volunteer at St. Elizabeth's Hospital on the Northside.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Anthony and Carl, and sisters, Amelia (Millie) Orlando, Margaret Ann, and Mary Pelini French.
Irma was a devoted daughter and sister. She loved her family deeply and was kind and generous to each and everyone. She especially enjoyed gathering for family celebrations, holidays and picnics in Mill Creek Park. In an effort to keep everyone close, Irma became the family historian, creating a newsletter filled with important family updates, addresses and humor.
Our dear Aunt Irma will be sadly missed by her numerous nieces and nephews and her great nieces and nephews.
Family members and friends will be received at St. Anthony Church on Monday, October 21 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. The mass will commence at 10:30 AM with her burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
