Jean Raniol, 96
Youngstown- Friends and family may gather at 10 am in St. Anthony Church on Wed. Jan. 2, 2012 with a mass to follow at 10:30 for Jean Raniol who died on Sun. Dec. 30. She was born in Girard on Sept. 26, 1916, a daughter of Antonio and Euphemia Carusone Parillo and was a lifelong resident of Youngstown. Jean taught at Holy Name School and was very active in her community. She was a member of ITAM Post 3 Ladies Auxillary, a member of the Catholic Knights of Ohio, and a member of Paul Sqambati Catholic War Veterans Post No. 9. She was a member of St. Anthony Altar and Rosary Society and a member of their Senior Citizens Group. Jean volunteered as a Red Cross Aide at Northside Hospital during WWII and at the Brecksville Unit of the Veterans Administration where she received a Voluntary Service Award for 100 hours of service.She enjoyed attending meetings for the Ohio Cultural Alliance and received a certificate of appreciation for the service and aid she gave to widowed persons. Jean leaves four daughters; Eugenia "Jeannie" (Ron) Turney of Girard, Francine (Martin) Wohlgamuth of Hubbard, Susan Raniol of Canfield, and Marianne (Jim) Redmond of Silver Lake, Grandchildren; Kyle, John, and Michael Redmond and Lauren Wilson of Wilmington, NC and Celia, Vincent, and Silvio of Minneapolis, MN and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and her parents. Her entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
