John Pasquale Pandone
AUSTINTOWN – John Pasquale Pandone died early morning at his home Oct. 1, 2012.
He was born on June 24, 1935, the son of Philip and Rose (Anzevino) Pandone.
He married Rosemary Gengenbacher on Nov. 15, 1958. They have two daughters, Denise Lancaster (Jeffery) and Christine (Kaleda) Pandone. He has four grandchildren, Jon Pandone, James Lancaster, and Alexis and Kayla Kaleda; and great-grandchild, Eva Rose Pandone.
John served his country in the U.S. Army and had considered an military career, however after his Uncle Frank (Ansevin) had explained to John (and Rosemary) what life in the military was like, Rosemary "made John an offer he couldn't refuse." John made the right decision, he was a family man and he came back home to Youngstown.
John enjoyed many years with his wife, children, and grandchildren. John shared his carpentry skills and Craftsman Tools with his grandson, Jon. He shared his love of summer fun and swimming with Alexis and Kayla. His grandson, James, most enjoyed home-cooked meals with Grandma Rosie, where John could share wisdom while being most entertaining. John had an endearing love for his great-grandchild, Eva Rose and her mother, Kourtney. He cherished his time spent with his daughter number three, Lisa Loncar, and loved convertible rides with her golden retriever, Zoe Marie.
John was a kind, ambitious and hard working person. These qualities served him (and Sears Roebuck and Company) quite well. He began his career at the uptown Sears store and retired as a team member of the Sears Exec. Development Program. John was recognized many times over for his Million Dollar Sales Awards in his hardware department. John liked to help people. He was instrumental in developing the Small Engine Repair Program of Choffin Career Center. John served on the Advisory Board providing students with materials, technical assistance and discounts to purchase Craftsman Tools to start their own business.
Calling hours will be today, Oct. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Schiavone Funeral Home, Youngstown.
Services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 4, at the funeral home immediately followed by the Mass at St. Christine Parish at 10:30 a.m.
