Joseph N. Ignazio, 88

YOUNGSTOWN ­ The Rite of Christian Burial will be said on Tuesday, July 30,
2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Schiavone Funeral Home for Joseph N. Ignazio, 88,
who died July 26, 2013, at Hospice House.
Joe was the son of Anthony and Victoria Mele Ignazio and was born on July 4,
1925, in Youngstown He attended Tod, Hayes and The Rayen School. Through his life, he was
employed by the Isaly Dairy Co. and the B&O and Erie Railroad. Joe was
drafted into the Navy during World War II in October of 1943 and was an
arial gunnery instructor and served as a coxswain. He was at the battles of Midway, Guam,
Marshall Islands, Marianis Islands, and the Philippine Islands. Joe was the co-owner of
the original J&S Heating Co. and his last employment was as a Mahoning County
Heating and A.C. Inspector from 1960 to 1990.
He invented the temperature seasing devise, which shuts off the gas furnace if
carbon monoxide is manufactured during combustion.
Joe was married to Beverly Maw Bowser, who passed away April 9, 1998.
He leaves three sons, Joseph A. (Diane) Ignazio, James V. (Diana) Ignazio
and David S. (Debra) Ignazio; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Carmela Clement and Yolanda Hanuschak; and several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife; three brothers, Anthony, Vincent
and Angelo; and one sister, Lauretta.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013, and 9:45 to
10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their caring of
Joseph.
