Julie Santillo, 89
Liberty-Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at the Schiavone Funeral Home for Julie Santillo, who died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Heritage Manor, surrounded by family. Julie was born on March 22, 1923, in Youngstown, a daughter of Cosimo and Louise DeRose Santillo. She was a 1942 graduate of East High School, attended Youngstown Business College, and was a member of the First Christian Assembly in Liberty. Julie loved her Lord and led a truly dedicated Christian life. Second to her Lord, she loved her family. Her passion in life was reading and gardening and she was an accomplished seamstress. She had worked for 32 years at Weatherbee Coats, retiring in 1974 as a supervisor. She was considerate to others, always putting them before herself. She is survived by two sisters, Louise (Jack) Dyer of Liberty with whom she made her home and Phyllis (Frank) DiPietro of Poland; a brother, John (Angie) Santillo of Struthers; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved like her own. She was preceded in death by six brothers; Marty, Louis, Dominic, Joseph, Cosmo, and Paul, and a sister; Donna Benigas. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family truly appreciates the loving and exceptional care given to Julie by all of the staff at Heritage Manor during her confinement. Memorial contributions can be made to Heritage Manor in Julie's name. Burial will be at Belmont Cemetery.
