Lena R. Fair, 94

LIBERTY, Lena R. Fair, 94, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 28, at Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

Born on Easter Sunday, April 20,1919, in Youngstown, she was the seventh of ten children of Samuel and Judith Fusco Cicatiello, and a life long area resident.

She married James A. Fair on February 22, 1941, at St. Anthony's Church. While her husband served in the Navy during WWII, Lena was employed as a riveter at Youngstown Steel Door.

During her life, Lena was most happy spending time with her family. She will be remembered for being a meticulous homemaker and a wonderful mother. Her family is forever grateful for the values she instilled in them, with respect to family, education and their Catholic faith. Lena was a faithful member of St. Columba Cathedral.

Throughout her years, she enjoyed bowling, playing cards, family outings and sitting outside on hot summer days among her flowers. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Italamar Club.

Lena leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Ann Stratford of Austintown, Jean Wainio, (Bill) with whom she resided in Liberty, Marilynn Butler (Tom) of Canfield; four grandchildren, Scott Stratford (Chicago), Linette Stratford (Austintown),  Todd Stratford (Erin) of Bay Village, Suzanne Stratford-Colburn (Tim) of Bay Village; and seven great grandchildren, Will, Scott, Hayden, Emma, Maeve, Regan, and Liam.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-seven years, who died February 27, 1988, her son, Jimmy, and six brothers, Sam and Tom Cicatiello, Angelo, Pete, Tony, and Joe Costello; and three sisters, Caroline Oliver, Cecelia Vossevell, and Mary D'Amico.

Family and friends may call on Friday, October 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Schiavone Funeral Home, 1842 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at The Cathedral of St. Columba with the Reverend John Keehner officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to express its sincere thanks to the 6th floor Intermediate Care Unit of St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, for their excellent care and to the staff at Hospice House for their loving care and support. Contributions may be made in Lena's name to St. Columba Cathedral or Hospice House of Poland.
