Leroy "Skeet" Robert Bridgens

Leroy "Skeet" Robert Bridgens, 76, cherished husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, June 24th, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family in the comfort of his home.

Skeet was born September 5th 1947 in Niles, Ohio, son of the late Leroy W. and Angeline Vaccaro Bridgens.

A hard worker and provider, he was an independent truck driver for close to 40 years. A classic car enthusiast, skeet enjoyed attending car shows and winning many awards with his multiple spotless classic cars. He enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and extended family in Florida, Michigan and Canada. He valued family above all else and loved spending time with his loved ones.

Skeet was known affectionately by the family as Mr. Fix-it. He had a great sense of humor, contagious laugh, and generous heart. He was a fighter. He showed great strength and courage in all battles he faced. To family, he was a hero. His love, friendship and wisdom will be deeply missed.

Skeet is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jeanette Dunleavy Bridgens; his three children, Deena (Todd) Morrison of Mineral Ridge, Tammy Roberts of Warren, and Christine Bridgens of Warren; six grandchildren, Justin (Courtney) Morrison, Jacquelyn Mrofchak, Jason Roberts, Jarrod Morrison, Dominic Roberts, and Isabella (Dan) Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Lincoln Mrofchak, Amelia Morrison and Theo Morrison.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his baby sister, Roxann "Ro" Tripodi.

Grateful appreciation to hospice of the Valley for their support in his care. Donations may be sent to Hospice of the Valley and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in his name.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, June 29th 2024 from 10am-noon in Schiavone Funeral Home followed by a prayer service.
