Mrs. Edward Tonti, 94, passed away Thursday December 20, 2012 at The Courtyard assisted living home in Salem, Ohio, where she had been a resident for two and a half years.
She was born January 16, 1918 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Guilio DiCarlo and Emma (Federichi) DiCarlo. She resided in Liberty twp. for most of her life.
She had worked in the nursery of St. Elizabeth Hospital for a number of years.
Her family includes two sons, John(Joetta) of Salem, Ohio and Robert(Robin) of Roanoke Virginia; a brother Tom DiCarlo of Tennessee: three grandchildren, Robert (Melissa) and Joseph (Katy)  of Toledo and Wendy(Steve)Broache of Gettysburg Pa. five great grandchildren, Rachel (Nate) Addington, Jon Harp, Alex (Sara) Harp, Michael and Jessica Tonti, and one great great grandchild, Athen Addington.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Tonti, whom she married June 12, 1937: three sisters Betty Zappi Walker, Irma Carano and Amelia Altiere and a brother Anthony DiCarlo.
Linda's family would like to thank Grace Hospice for their warm and loving care during her final days and also the staff of The Courtyard who respectfully provided for her needs for the two and a half years as a resident of The Courtyard.
A memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Schiavone Funeral Home, 1842 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, Ohio.
