Girard - A prayer service will be held at 7pm Sunday May 18, 2014 at Schiavone Funeral Home for Louis A. Gori Sr. who passed away Thursday afternoon. Lou was born in Youngstown to Raymond and Lucy Carozza Gori on Aug. 6, 1939. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 377 and a 1957 graduate of The Rayen School where he played football all 4 years. He was an All City and All State Defensive Tackle and an avid golfer at Avalon and Squaw Creek Country Clubs. In 1994 Lou retired as a sales representative for Superior Beverage. He leaves his daughters; Nancy (Paul) Soots and Dina (Dan) Harkabus, his son Louis A. Gori Jr., brother; Raymond Gori, and grandsons; Michael and Eric Soots. Family and friends will gather from 4-7 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Lou's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
