Mary Leona (Altier) Depietro

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sat. Jan. 23, 2016 at 10am in St. Anthony Church for Mary Leona DePietro, 89 who passed away Sunday morning. She was born Dec. 30, 1926 the daughter of James and Mary Altier in Youngstown. Leona was a member of the church as well as a member of many Italian-American groups and lodges. She loved Bingo, bowling, and the casinos. Her husband, John Sr. whom she married Jan. 17, 1953 preceded her in death on July 26, 1999 and her only brother, John Altier passed away in Dec. of 2014. Leona is survived by seven children; Debbie (Lisa) Thornton, John (Elaine) DePietro Jr., James (Shirley)DePietro, Dennis DePietro, Evelyn DePietro, Donna DePietro, and Ninetta (Jeff) Wykoff, nine grandchildren, three great grand children, eleven grand dogs, and five grand cats. She also leaves four in-laws; Armond Prezioso, Ester Palumbo, Evelyn DiPietro, and Bill (Linda) DiPietro, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family and friends may call Fri. from 4-8pm and from 9-9:45am on Sat. at Schiavone Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Belmont Park Cemetery
