Merrell R. Hash

Girard-Merrell Roy Hash, 78, passed away peacefully early morning Thursday November 12, 2015 in the company of his best friend at Meridian Arms. Merrell was born August 27, 1937 in Youngstown. He served in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. After his proud service, Merrell worked as a roofer. Merrell was a proud member of the VFW Post #3360 for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Spin and William Hash, his brothers Bill Hash and Robert Hash as well as his wife Jane. He is survived by his sister, Donna Pugh of Petersburg, his neices and nephews and great neices and nephews. He also leaves behind Rick (Red) Fleischer who was like a brother to him. He was a caring, loving, good-hearted man who will be sadly missed. At Merrell's and the family's request, in leiu of flowers, donations be made in his name directly to the VFW Post #3360, 1351 Albert Street, Youngstown, OH 44505.
