Naomi Ruth (Harrison) Natale

August 26, 1928 — December 3, 2012

Youngstown- Naomi "Ruth" Natale, 84, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday morning December 3, 2012 surrounded by her family at Park Vista South in Youngstown, OH where she had been a resident for 15 months.
Ruth was born on August 26, 1928 to George and Opal Christine Emenheiser Harrison in Kokomo, IN. For employment reasons her father moved the family to Ford City, PA where she was raised until moving to Youngstown after WWII.
On September 15, 1951, Frank A. Natale Sr. and Ruth were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1994.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother of Christian faith, who enjoyed all types of crafts especially crocheting, traveling, and spending time with her cats.
Ruth retired from the Youngstown Board of Election after 30 years in the custodial departments of McKinley and later, Madison schools. She was a member of AFSCME-AFL-CIO Local 1143 and served as president of SERO Local Chapter 19 for 7 years. She also served as president for 6 years on the SERO State Chapter, which represents over 8,000 retired school employees. Ruthvolunteered for years at St. Anthony Church making the origional Brier Hill Pizza and handmade rosaries.
Cherished memories of Ruth will be celebrated by those she leaves behind especially her sons, Ronald "Rick" Bowser and his wife Beth, and Frank A."Korky" Natale Jr. as well as the loves of her life granddaughters; Lanee (Shawn) Tanferi of Columbus, Janine (Lance) Koss of Howland, and Paige (Nate) Sample of Middlefield, Greatgrandchildren, whom she adored Maryn and Max Taferi , Sadie Sample, and triplets Piper, Presley, and Payton Koss.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
The family would like to thank the staff at Park Vista for their kindness, compassion, and care for Naomi Ruth.
Calling hours will be held tonight from 5-8 PM and on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the Schiavone Funeral Home in Youngstown.  A prayer service will follow at 11.
