Raymond D. Orlando

Liberty Township - A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at 10am in St. Edward Church for Raymond D. Orlando, 88 who died at his residence on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. Ray was born Aug. 6, 1928 in Youngstown a son of Vito and Agatha Tareshawty Orlando. His career as a Professional Engineer began in 1954 with Ajax Magnethermic, then from 1962 until 1982 he worked at YSU, he then worked with Venetta Engineers until 1984, and ended his career working for General Electric in Grove City with his 1995 retirement. Ray was a member of the church and Professional Engineers Association. He was a YSU alumni and a US Navy Veteran. He enjoyed family and golfing and is survived by two sons; Ray (Dawn) Orlando and Richard (Barbara) Orlando, two grandchildren; Vincent and Gina, five great grandchildren; Dominic, Mira, Demetrius, Lisa, and Russell, one great-great grandson; Dylan, a brother; John Orlando, and a sister; Antonette Bispek. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; the former Ruth C. Beck whom he married Sept. 11, 1948 died Aug. 25, 2005, two sisters; Candie Lynn and Rita Chapman. Family and friends will gather 5-8pm on Tues and 9-9:45am on Wed. in Schiavone Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors.
