Austintown Twp. – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 29, in St. Christine Church for Robert Anthony Navarro Sr., 93, of Canfield, formerly of Boardman. Bob passed away early Friday, October 21, at Briarfield Manor Care Center. Bob was born September 19, 1923 in Youngstown the son of Alfonso and Marietta (Mancino) Navarro. He retired from General Fire Proofing in January of 1974 where he was a press operator. Bob was a veteran of the US Marine Corps., serving in Okinawa, Japan during WWII. He was a member of St. Christine Church, the VFW Post #44 and the YMCA Golf League. He was an avid golfer, and an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians. His wife of 68 years, the former Theresa Louise Nacarato, whom he married August 23, 1943, passed away June 1, 2012. Bob leaves his son Robert "Bobby" Navarro Jr. of St. John, IN, one son-in-law Michael Kimock of North Jackson, four grandchildren, Kimmie (Chuck) Kuharich of Boardman, Michael R. Kimock of Boardman, Erin (Dave) Saurer, and Nicole (Scott) Tokmenko both of Brunswick. Bob also leaves six great grandchildren, Jenna (Hector) Hernandez, Jillian Kuharich, Nicholas and Joshua Saurer, and Georgie and Jace Tokmenko, and one great-great granddaughter Gabriella Hernandez. Besides his parents and his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Patti Kimock, a daughter-in-law Georgie (Pavlich) Navarro, a grandson Jason Navarro, three brothers, Philip, Alfred, and Domenic Navarro, and twin sisters, Edith Nicoletti and Lucy Ceaser. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at St. Christine Church were a mass will begin at 11 AM. The family would like to thank Ed and Diane Reese and the staff at Briarfield Manor for their hard work and care for Bob over the years during his stay.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to cancer research in Bob's name. Arrangements were entrusted to the Schiavone Funeral Home.
