Roy F. Salani, 84

Youngstown-Funeral services were held at Schiavone Funeral Home yesterday morning for Roy F. Salani with Monsignor Michael Cariglio officiating.  Roy was born in Youngstown on December 3, 1927 to the late Roy A. and Rose C. Severino Salani. He attended Ursuline High School and was a Korean War Veteran.  After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, he married the former Anita Sferra on February 15, 1958. Together they had a son, Roy S. Salani. He was employed at U.S. Steel's McDonald Works as a metal finisher and retired in 1980 as a gager on the rolling mill, with 37 years of service. He had a fascination with cars, which showed, in his meticulously kept vehicles. Roy is survived by his wife and son and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. His final resting place is in Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
