Victoria M. (Seichel) Laurie

Youngstown - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 am yesterday in St. Anthony of Padua Church for Victoria M. Laurie, 98 who died Jan. 4, 2017. Victoria was born in Frankfort, New York on May 23, 1918 and came to Youngstown as a small child. She was the daughter of George and Maddalina Figonia Sechiel and a 1936 graduate of East High School. While being a homemaker, Victoria was a cafeteria worker at Ursuline High School and made candy for Geordan's Candies. She was a member of the church where she made Briar Hill Pizza on Fridays. She enjoyed her family, cooking, and gardening. Victoria is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (Bill) Rosenmund and her grandchildren, Sarah and Danny. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack D. Laurie whom she married Oct. 19, 1946 died Dec. 18, 2004, and her brother Joseph Sechiel. Burial took place in Calvary Cemetery.
