William L. Sorice

Our loving father, William L. Sorice, 92, passed away peacefully at his home December 2, 2018. William was born in Youngstown on September 21, 1926. He was son of the late Pasquale Sorice and Maria Pallante Sorice born in Avellino, Italy. He was married to the late Patricia DeProfio in 1958 who passed away January 9, 2011. He was a graduate of East High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. William worked as a welder at General American and General Motors where he retired in 1990. He leaves his son, William J. Sorice and his daughter, Shari Kurtz of Liberty; his grandchildren, Robby Kurtz of Columbus and Kacey Houser and her husband, John Houser of Rootstown. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Davanzo and Antoinette Lanzino and his brother, Sam Sorice. William enjoyed gardening and cooking and spending time with his family. Per his request there will be no calling hours. Services were held at 11am on Thursday with Father Michael Swierz officiating. He is buried in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. May William join our mother in heaven and may they both rest in peace.
