Anthony Jerome Hopkins, 42, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Mercy Health Hospital Boardman Campus.
Anthony was born August 13, 1979, in Youngstown, a son of Tanya Ash-Hopkins and Clifford Harris.
Anthony was employed with SVS Specialty Technologies. He was a 1997 graduate of Ursuline High School. He loved to spend time with his friends and family. He had an infectious smile and a heart of gold. Anthony was an avid Raiders fan and had a passion for cooking and sharing his delicious creations, especially his famous bbq sauce.
Anthony leaves cherished memories to his aunt, Randi Russell, with whom he was raised; uncle, Henry “Punchy” Gillam; cousins, Ja’Lyn Roma Russell of Youngstown and Aaron Gillam of Las Vegas; aunt, Traci (Melvin) Miller; aunt, Kimberly (Osvaldo) Figueroa; uncle, Daniel Ash (Sarah Karp); uncle, David Ash; aunt, Kareem Ash; aunt, Norma Jean Gunn; many cousins and friends, including his long-time friends who loved him dearly; his Godmother, Lynne Loosemore; God-sisters, Kelly and Jessica Bowell; his God-brother, James Loosemore; and his God-niece, Marina Stetson.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Mrs. Roma Russell Gillam; and his grandfather, Mr. William (Leona) Ash.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January, 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the mass at the church. Please follow Covid-19 guidelines, masks are required.
