Diana M. (DeFuria) Schaeffer

Diana M. Schaeffer, 80, passed peacefully on March 25, 2020.

Diana was born on May 5, 1939 in Youngstown Ohio to Anthony and Concetta DeFuria. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Chaney High School.

She married Charles Schaeffer, her one and only love, on May 14, 1960.

Diana was a fantastic hairdresser for over fifty years. She was a wonderful cook, a loyal friend, and loving partner to Charles. They loved to travel together and be on the go and Tuesdays with her sisters were a weekly highlight. She was selfless, vibrant, funny, caring and devoted to her family and friends. She will be endlessly missed by all who were fortunate to know and be cared for by her through her constant acts of kindness.

She leaves behind to celebrate her memory her husband of nearly sixty years, Charles as well as her daughters Denise (Dirk) of Powell and Kelly (Edward) of Canfield and her grandchildren Alexander and Elizabeth Kish and Jared, David and Emily Hofsess whom she adored and was fiercely proud of. Her siblings, who were her best friends: Joseph (Vera) DeFuria, Dora Andio, Norma Brooke and Lillian (William) Weimer, sister-in-law Teresa DeFuria as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Concetta, brothers Louis and Anthony, and sisters Stella, Josephine and Helen.

Diana was a devoted Catholic and an active member of St. Christine's Church her entire adult life. A funeral mass will be held there to celebrate her life and will be announced at a future time. Arrangements handled by Schiavone Funeral Home.
