On Friday, July 23, 2021, Joseph John Mlynarski Sr. loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away in his home surrounded by his family at age 76. Joseph was born on August 15, 1944 in Niles, Ohio to Alexander and Helen Turowski Mlynarski. He graduated from Ursuline High School and attended Youngstown State University. At age 23 he was drafted into the Army where he served as a combat medic in the Vietnam War. During his service he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, and the Purple Heart. Joseph was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree of Girard counsel and also the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. He was a postal carrier for 30 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Rosemary; son, Joe (Michele); and daughter, Michele. Joseph was a proud grandfather to four grandkids, Haley, Katie, Ryan, and Jimmy. He is also survived by his sister, MaryAnn Mlynarski. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Helen Mlynarski.
Family and friends will gather from 3-5pm on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in Schiavone Funeral Home with a prayer service to follow. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Joseph Sr. has asked you to make donations to one of his favorite charities, GRIN Rescue (Golden Retrievers in Need) P.O. Box 24365 Cleveland, Ohio 44124 or to another cause dear to his heart, the Multiple Sclerosis Youngstown Chapter, due to his wife Rosemary living with the disease.
