Virginia G. Moderalli was born December 15, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to her parents Felix and Helen Petrarca Marinelli and came to Youngstown when she was two years old.
Virginia worked at JC Penny in the Liberty plaza for 21 years, K-Mart in Liberty for 7 years, and worked the Board of Election polls for over 26 years.
She married her only boyfriend and high school sweet heart, Rocco Moderalli Jr. on August 7, 1948. They were married for 69 years until his passing on April 19, 2017. She was a faithful member of St. Rose Church in Girard for 67 years.
Virginia enjoyed taking care of her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who made the best wedding soup, lasagna, and meatballs.
She leaves her children, Linda (Ernie) Kaip of Girard, Karen (Rick) Zublena of Canfield, and Rocco Moderalli III with whom she made her home; her grandchildren, Christina Kaip, Maria (TJ) McKnight, Robby Zublena, and Lindsay Zublena.
She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband Rocco.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 10-11am in St. Rose Church followed by a mass and burial in Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Ohio Living Hospice for their exceptional and loving care especially, Tammy, Mary Kay, Kirstie, Lauren, Marissa, and Pastor Dan. They would also like to thank Monsignor John A. Zuraw for his kindness and prayers and Dr. Patsy Buccino her family physician.
