Carmel G. Vadino Chito Ramunno, 93

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be said Tuesday, March 17 at 11 a.m in St. Anthony of Padua Church for Carmel G. Ramunno who died Saturday morning at her residence. “Millie” was born in Girard on January 15, 1922. She was the daughter of Eckles and Frances DeAmeceles Vadino. She was a member of the church, pizza workers, and senior citizens. She was a Cleveland Indians fan and loved to take bus trips to the casino. She was proud to have spent her 90th birthday on a private bus trip to the Rivers Casino with 38 friends and family members. Millie married Carl Chito October 28, 1943 who passed away June 11, 1994; to this union she had two sons, Carl Jr. who passed away November 28, 1968 and Paul who died November 28, 1998. Millie met her second husband Joseph Ramunno on a “Pizza Friday” at St. Anthony and were married June 8, 2002.  Millie’s and Joe enjoyed endless hours playing Pinochle. After Joe’s death, June 8, 2007, she went to live with her step-daughter Marilyn Ramunno and her husband Raymond La Shure of Austintown where she became “Gramma Millie” to several foster children who she enjoyed playing card games with. Carmel also leaves behind 6 stepsons Anthony (Marie), Robert, and John of Youngstown, Joseph (Patricia) of Canton, Mark (Nancy) of Canfield, and David (Carla) of Milford Village, Michigan  and 7 step grandchildren Christine, Jason, Brian, Monica, Mark, Mike and Mario. Kathie Conner, her former daughter-in-law, of Austintown, Kathie’s son Carl of Columbus, Carl’s Son, Antonio of Boardman and a daughter-in-law Gladys Chito and Gladys’s daughters Michele Chito, Kristi (Gabriele) Ponti all of McDonald. Preceding her in death were 3 brothers James, Charles, Walter Vadino and a sister Virgina Archer. Family and friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m at Schiavone Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for the compassionate care shown during her final days.
