Delphine M. (Pelleschi) Belcik

Delphine M. Belcik, 81, went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2016. She passed away peacefully of natural causes in the home she loved. Delphine was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Rochester, NY and moved to Youngstown at four years old.

Delphine is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John G. Belcik, whom she married Nov. 22, 1958 and her parents Benedict and Rachel Pelleschi.

Delphine leaves behind her sons; John Belcik of Youngstown, David Belcik of Virginia Beach, VA, Ben (Lisa) Belcik of Girard, and her daughter; Santina (Kurtis) Smith of Yakima, WA. Delphine was blessed with 11 grandchildren; Ben, Ashley, Michaela, Michael, Josiah, Matthew, Gabriel, Ryan, Jeroen, Raenah, and Faylinn.

Delphine also leaves behind her siblings; Max (Marie) Pelleschi, Shirley (Richard) DelBoccio, Patricia (the late John) DiFrangia, and Rachel (Ronald) Hill along with her sister-in-law; Bernice (Steve) Senvisky and brother-in-law; Bobby Belcik. Delphine also has many nieces and nephews that loved spending time with her.

Delphine attended Youngstown College for a short time. Later in 1978, she started working in Admissions at Southside Hospital and then transferred to Northside Hospital retiring in 1998.

Delphine loved spending time with her family. Her generosity, compassion, kindness, and the love she shared with others were endless. She enjoyed games of chance, and her home was a hub for large holiday gatherings with friends and family. She was deeply proud of the accomplishments of all of her children and grandchildren. She made everyone around her laugh with funny stories of family adventures and follies.

To her loved ones and many friends, Delphine was priceless. Her memory will be cherished, and she will be dearly missed.

Family and friends may call at the Schiavone Funeral Home on Thurs., July 28, from 4-8pm and on Fri. from 9:30-10:30am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow in St. Rose Church at 11am.
