Dearborn, MI-Mariann P. Cellio was born Feb. 4, 1918 in Youngstown, daughter of Donato and Mary Dennison Maine. She was a 1936 graduate of Chaney High School and married James T. Cellio on Nov. 11, 1939. While living in McDonald for 48 years, Mariann was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and its Alter & Rosary Society. She was also instrumental in assisting the Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in establishing their convent there. After the passing of her husband James in 1989, Mariann lived in Canfield with her daughter, Patricia and son-in-law, Richard Hura. She belonged to St. Michael Parish for the remainder of her life. She was active in charitable work for the American Cancer Society and crocheted hundreds of lap robes for seniors in long term care. While spending the last ten years of her life living with her daughter, Carol Durkin in Dearborn, MI, Mariann was known for her devoted adoration to the Blessed Mother and would pray the rosary for anyone in need. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and meals surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Patricia, four brothers, two sisters, and great granddaughter, Lilly. She leaves behind her daughter, Carol; son, James J. (Jan) Cellio, grandchildren, Michele (Frank) DeLuca, Richard (Alexis) Hura, Jen (Russell) Cellio Miller, Holly (John) Harrington, and Jeff (Courtney) Cellio, great grandchildren; Caitlin, Alec, Emily, Aaron, Reagan, Sean, Ella, Evelyn, Carter, and Campbell. Calling hours will be held Friday, March 6 from 4-8 pm at Schiavone Funeral home in Youngstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in St. Michael in Canfield on Sat with burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mariann’s memory to the Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 50 Warner Rd. Hubbard, OH 44425.
