Brunswick - A mass of Christian Burial will be said Tuesday April 21, 2015 in St. Anthony of Padua Church at 11:00 a.m for Mary Grace Polon Carelly, 96. Formally of Dearborn Street in the Brier Hill section of Youngstown. Mary died Thursday in Willowood Care Center under Senior Independence Hospice Care. She was the daughter of Guy L. and Grace M. Galose Polon. She had an amazing horticultural nature and worked over 40 years at Johnny Long Flowers, also on Dearborn Street. Mary was a 1936 graduate of the Rayen School and a member of the choir at Willowood Care Center where she loved the residents and staff. She is survived by two sons, Jerry J. (Mary) Carelly of Texas and Thomas A. (Mina) Carelly of California, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a sister Anita Vogrin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James V. Carelly, whom she married July 16, 1937 and died January 6, 1984, two sons, Anthony and James A, a grandson Michael, two sisters, Jean Scavnicky and Phyllis Stelluto, and two brothers, Michael (Bob) and Dominic (Ted). Family and friends may call one hour before the mass at the church. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
