Youngstown - A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30am with Father Joseph Rudjak officiating in Holy Apostles Parish Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Worship Site, 421 Covington St. Youngstown, OH 44510 on Sat. Oct. 15, 2016 for Rose M. Cuculic who died peacefully Tuesday morning in Meridian Arms Living Center. Rose was born July 28, 1920 in Youngstown, a daughter of Stephen and Mary Krizan Vadjunec. She was a 1938 graduate of the Rayen School and resided on the Northside of Youngstown her entire life. Rose was very active in church and school activities. As a former member of St. Casimir Church she was a member of their Altar and Rosary Society and Senior Citizen Group. She was a member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild and a 78-year member of the Croatian Fraternal Union St. George’s Lodge #66, Polish Legion of American Veterans Post #87, Ladies Auxiliary Financial Secretary, and Knights of Columbus #5371 Ladies Auxiliary Past President. She was an active participant in Polish Arts and various Youngstown Bowling Leagues until the age of 82. These leagues included Northside Lanes, Westside Lanes, and Kay Lanes. Rose was a homemaker and family caretaker who was a fantastic cook and baker that also worked at Triangle Raincoat. She leaves two daughters; Rose (James) Hess of Durham, NC and Dr. Linda Cuculic of Austintown, a son; Ronald (Angie) Cuculic of Parma, five grandchildren; Juan, Matthew, Danielle, Brian, and Nathan, and two great grandchildren; Orion and Roslynn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Stanley J. Cuculic whom she married July 20, 1946, died June 4, 1997, three brothers; John, Walter, and Joseph Vadjunec, and two sisters; Katherine Gunzel and Rosalia Vadjunec. Family and friends will gather from 6-9pm on Fri and from 10:15-11:15am on Sat. in Schiavone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VA Butler Health Care 325 New Castle Rd. Butler, PA 16001 in Rose’s memory. Her family would like to thank the staff of Meridian Arms Living Center for their wonderful care of Rose over the past 10 years.
