John P. Ziemianski

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday May 6, 2016 at 10am in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church for John P. Ziemianski Jr., 83 who died early Monday morning in Hospice House. "Jack" was born July 11, 1932 in Youngstown to his parents, John P. and Helen V. Vasko Ziemianski Sr. He was a 1951 Ursuline graduate who worked as a mechanic, night foreman, and in sales for the International Harvester Company for 32 years. Before his retirement he also worked in sales for Spartan Chevrolet. As a member of the church he served as Eucharistic Minister, Alter Server, Usher, and as a member of the Finance Committee and Senior Citizen Club. He was president and coach of the Mill Creek Junior Baseball League, Scout Master for the Cub Scouts at Christ U.P. Church, and as a football official for the Youngstown Football Officials Association for many years. While serving in the US Army during the Korean War, he played on their baseball league as well. Jack is survived by his wife, the former, JoAnn Massaro, whom he married January 10, 1958, two sons; John J. (Karen) Ziemianski of Erie, PA and Robert P. (Lori Fantone) Ziemianski of Youngstown, four grandchildren; Stacey Myers, Laura Ziemianski, Michael Ziemianski, and Caroline Ziemianski, three great grandchildren; Delena, Gianna, and Siena Myers, two brothers; Joseph A (Margaret) Ziemianski of Medina and Thomas G. Ziemianski of Newark, DE, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents. Family and friends will gather Thursday May 5, 2016 from 4-7pm and on Friday May 6th from 9-9:30am in Schiavone Funeral Home. The family requests donations be made to Youngstown Meals on Wheels, 1840 Market St. Youngstown, OH 44507 in Jack’s memory. An honor guard detail will perform a ceremony following the mass.
