Virginia C. Bliss, 60
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at
the First Baptist Church at N. State Street and E. Kline in Girard for
Virginia C. Bliss, 60, who went to the Lord early Saturday morning, with her
family by her side.
Virginia was the daughter of Caroline Schuster and James Cogan Sr. She was
born Aug. 28, 1951, in Philadelphia and became an Ardent Eagles fan. She
also had possession of many team items to prove her loyalty.
She came to the Youngstown area 33 years ago and was a member of the church.
She enjoyed bingo, playing poker and the Eagles games.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Elmer R. Bliss, whom she married
April 15, 1972; their children, Alfred Bliss of Niles, Etta Collins of
Niles, Loretta Bares of Boardman, Elmer Bliss Jr. of Austintown, Joseph
Bliss of Liberty, Tammy Bliss of Girard, Richard Bliss Sr. of Youngstown,
and Jeffrey Bliss of Youngstown; a sister, Patricia Linzey; a brother, James
Cogan; and 14 grandchildren.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Schiavone
Funeral Home and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev.
Sarah Jay officiating.
Burial will be at Churchill Cemetery.
