Liberty – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Sat. May 30, 2015 in St. Patrick Church of Hubbard for Fred A. Battisti, 75 who passed away yesterday at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Fred was born November 3, 1939 in Youngstown, to Fred and Mary Rendinell Battisti. He joined the Cafaro Company on May 5, 1966 and has served as Chief Site Planner for nearly 50 years. Fred is known to many people in the Shopping Center Industry locally and across the country. He also served as the Shopping Center Convention Coordinator since 1978. Fred served on the Liberty Township Zoning Commission for several years and was a member of St. Patrick Church where he served as an usher. He was an avid athlete with special love for the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Browns and was a former youth coach in Liberty Township. He also coached the Hubbard Youth football team with his claim to fame being his undefeated and unscored upon season in 1968. Fred enjoyed traveling throughout the country visiting his children and grandchildren. On October 5, 1968, Fred married Kathy Koroczynsky, together they were blessed with three children, Gregory (Laura) of Columbus, Fred Jr. (Natalie) of Indianapolis, IN, and Maria of San Diego, CA, the loves of his life are his two grandsons, Leonardo and Luca and soon to be Fred Anthony III. Fred also leaves his brother, John (Delores) Battisti of Hubbard along with his nephews and his niece. Family and friends may call on Friday, May 29 from 5-8 pm and Sat, May 30 from 9:30-10:30 am in the Schiavone Funeral Home.
