Dear family, So sorry to hear of John's passing. We lived near each other when he was on McCollum Rd and I on Wilkinson Ave on westside of Youngstown. In 9th or 10th grade we would walk home together after school and were kind of sweet on each other. He had a dear family then and his aunt & uncle, Mary & Fred Pietro, were my neighbors. We girls loved talking to him at our later high schl reunions. God rest his soul. Ruth Ann (Joseph) Vericella

We are so sorry to hear of Tuna's passing. I worked with him over 12 years ago at Southwind. He was always good to me. As a woman in a predominantly male atmosphere he always had kind & supportive words & advice for me. If I had any questions about paperwork, logs, fuel receipts, or just plain anything related to trucking, he always took the time to help me figure it out! He shared great stories with us & had a heart of gold. We will dearly miss him.

Tuna was my brother-in-law, but we were more like brothers. We shared thirty years of ups and downs and had more fun than should be allowed! When John came in to a room, the room got brighter, and that was always true. He always had an opinion about whatever the conversation was about and it usually brought a smile to your face. He always worked hard and did what he had to do to take care of his family. He was a proud Teamster and never backed down when he knew he was right. We will miss John, but those of you already in Heaven heed this; the lights up there WILL get brighter as soon as St. Peter checks his ID and he crosses the threshold!! Keep on Truckin Tuna.

Dear Ed,

This was a most beautiful tribute to John. You nailed his character to a tee. I always told John that I never knew anyone who was so well liked by so many people. He is smiling down on us right now.
Thank you for being such a good "brother" to him. He loved you and told me so many times.
We will miss Tuna...Jeanne
